Running for the ladies of BSNCF is an honor that allows me to log miles with purpose and intention.
Sadly, cancer affects all of us and has personally impacted me. My sister is a melanoma cancer survivor. My aunt is a breast cancer survivor. My uncle lost his battle to cancer. My mentor lost his brave fight to brain cancer.
Competing in Ironman 70.3 distances allows me to have an outlet to stay fit while championing causes that I care about and to race for those who can’t. I call this “racing with purpose.” When racing and training are tough, the grit experienced is nothing compared to the struggle that cancer patients endure. I feel blessed to have the gift of health and to have the opportunity to spread awareness and raise funds for BSNCF.
